Deuteronomy
|
Deuteronomy is the last of the five books of the Pentateuch. These five books were all written by Moses, as the children of Israel were in the wilderness, between Egypt and the Promised Land
The Book of Genesis takes us from creation up until the time when the children of Israel are living in Egypt. Exodus describes the tri from Egypt to Mount Sanai and the giving of the Law at Sanai. Leviticus gives further description of the laws that were given at Sanai and the rules and procedures for worship. Numbers tells of the wanderings in the wilderness, as the people waited for their entrance into the land. Now Deuteronomy, which means "second law", is a series of lectures that Moses gave the next generation, as they prepared to enter the Promised Land
