Genesis
|
The Book of Genesis was written by Moses, in the 15th century B.C. It is part of what is called "The Pentateuch," the first five books of the Old Testament, which were written by Moses.
The word "Genesis" is from a Greek word that means "beginning." This is the first Hebrew word in the first verse. Genesis is the book of beginnings. It tells of the beginning of creation, the beginning of man, the beginning of sin, and the beginning of God's plan for the redemption of sinning man.
