Leviticus
|
The word "Leviticus" means "pertaining to the Levites." This book was primarily a book of instruction for the priests, who were of the tribe of Levi, as they conducted the sacrifices and supervised the worship of Israel.
This book was written by Moses and is the third book in "The Pentateuch", which is the first five books of the Bible. All five books were written by Moses in the wilderness, sometime in the 15th century B.C.
