Ruth

The Book of Ruth is one of only two books of the Bible that wer named after women (Esther being the other). It is a short book that tels of a love story that happend sometime during the time of the judges.
The period of the judges was a dark time in the history of the nation of Israel. Horrible things were happening, as a result of the constant backsliding of God's people. But here in the Book of Ruther, we see a bright spot in this beautiful love story; and we see that God was at work even in dark times, as He was preparing a line through whom the Messiah would come.
